I’ll jump on the bandwagon and write a quick something about today. Today is Valentines day. The only “holiday” that I can think of that takes something that should be every day, showing those that you love special treatment, and makes it a money making, once a year thing. I am neither against, nor for celebrating Valentines day. Yes, it’s nice to take a day and do something extra special for your significant other, but it insinuates that showing love year round is no longer necessary. That’s wrong.
One thing about life is certain. That is that life is uncertain. You have no clue if you’ll still be alive in the next year, the next month, or even tomorrow. Taking this into consideration, we should treat every day like it’s special, every day like it’s our last. Don’t hold back and stay in your comfort zone, get out and do something new. Tell those that you love that you love them. “You never know what you’ve got until it’s gone.” A very cliche, but very true statement. If someone is of value to you, tell them. Whether it’s a hopeful significant other or someone that you value as a close friend.
Valentines day should be a day of adjustment, a day for adjusting one’s view of things. A day to realize just how important people are to you, and to let them know. Take this Valentines day and use it to express your appreciation for those that you care about.
